(see cautionary warning on previous blog!)
I attended one wedding where we were given the lyrics to Elvis Presley’s song, Love me Tender. During the ceremony most people joined in and sang. The song sheet had prompts for just the women to sing a chorus, and then the men, and then together. It was awesome.
Alternatively, at the reception, invite the guests at each table to sing a song with the word ‘Love’ in it. The tradition is, when the guests have agreed on a song, they tap a utensil against their glass to get everybody’s attention, the table of guests will then stand together and sing. At this prompt the bride and groom must kiss.
The wedding couple might also name another couple who have to kiss as well! Tables can have any amount of songs they choose throughout the evening however it is recommended not to be done through dinner.
